Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 15 March 2025
At jynarvexo, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our financial budgeting services. We're committed to transparency about our data practices and giving you control over your information. By using our services, you're trusting us with your data — and we don't take that lightly.
Who We Are
jynarvexo is a financial budgeting platform operated from our office at 18/102 Henderson Rd, Queanbeyan NSW 2620, Australia. We're bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we follow these principles in everything we do with your personal information.
When we say "personal information," we mean any data that identifies you or could reasonably identify you. This includes things like your name, email address, financial information, and how you interact with our platform.
Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you use our services. Here's what we gather and why:
Information You Give Us Directly
- Account details like your name, email address, phone number, and password when you sign up
- Financial information including income, expenses, savings goals, and budget categories you create
- Payment details when you subscribe to premium features — though we don't store complete card numbers
- Communications you send us through support requests, feedback forms, or email
- Profile preferences and settings you choose within the platform
Information We Collect Automatically
- Device information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Usage data showing how you navigate our platform, which features you use, and when you're active
- Technical data like error reports, performance metrics, and login timestamps
- Cookie data that helps us remember your preferences and keep you logged in
About Third-Party Connections: If you choose to link external accounts (like your bank or credit card) through our platform, we receive read-only transaction data from those institutions. We never receive or store your banking login credentials — those connections use secure third-party services that specialise in financial data aggregation.
How We Use Your Information
We're not in the business of selling your data. Everything we collect serves a specific purpose related to providing and improving our budgeting services.
| Purpose | What This Means |
|---|---|
| Service Delivery | Creating your budget dashboards, tracking expenses, generating reports, and syncing your data across devices |
| Account Management | Verifying your identity, processing payments, managing subscriptions, and responding to support requests |
| Communication | Sending transactional emails, service updates, security alerts, and (with your permission) marketing messages |
| Platform Improvement | Analysing usage patterns to fix bugs, develop new features, and enhance user experience |
| Security | Detecting fraud, preventing unauthorised access, and protecting against security threats |
| Legal Compliance | Meeting our obligations under Australian law and responding to valid legal requests |
Who We Share Your Information With
We don't sell your personal information to anyone. Period. But running a modern web platform means working with trusted partners who help us deliver our services. Here's who might see your data:
Service Providers
We work with companies that provide essential services like cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and customer support tools. These providers only access the information they need to do their job, and they're contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
Financial Data Partners
If you link external accounts, we use secure financial data aggregators to retrieve your transaction information. These are established companies that specialise in secure bank connections and are regulated by appropriate financial authorities.
Legal Requirements
We'll disclose information if required by Australian law, court order, or government request. We might also share data to protect our rights, investigate fraud, or enforce our terms of service — but only when genuinely necessary.
Business Transfers
If jynarvexo is acquired or merges with another company, your information would transfer to the new owner. We'd notify you before this happens and explain any changes to how your data is handled.
How We Protect Your Information
Financial data requires serious security. We use multiple layers of protection to keep your information safe:
- All data transmission happens over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Financial information is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption
- We use secure authentication systems and offer two-factor authentication for added protection
- Our systems are regularly tested for vulnerabilities by security professionals
- Access to personal information is restricted to employees who need it for their work
- We maintain detailed access logs and monitor for suspicious activity
- Regular backups protect against data loss while maintaining security standards
No system is completely impenetrable, but we take every reasonable precaution to protect your data. If we ever experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you promptly and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.
Your Rights and Choices
Under Australian privacy law, you have several rights regarding your personal information. Here's what you can do:
Access Your Information
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Most of this is already visible in your account dashboard, but if you want a complete export, just contact us. We'll provide it within 30 days, usually much faster.
Correct Your Information
Found something wrong? You can update most information directly in your account settings. For corrections to data you can't change yourself, send us an email and we'll fix it promptly.
Delete Your Account
You can close your account anytime through your account settings. When you do, we'll delete your personal information within 90 days, except for data we're legally required to keep (like transaction records for tax purposes) or information needed to resolve disputes.
Control Marketing Communications
We'll only send you marketing emails if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe anytime by clicking the link at the bottom of any marketing email. You'll still receive essential account-related emails like password resets and billing notices.
Export Your Data
Want to take your financial data elsewhere? You can download your budget information, transaction history, and other personal data in standard formats through your account settings.
To exercise these rights: Email us at help@jynarvexo.com with your request. We'll verify your identity and respond within 30 days. There's no charge for reasonable requests, though we might charge for excessive or repetitive requests that require significant effort.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes we collected it. Here's our general approach:
- Active account data is retained while your account remains open
- After account closure, most personal information is deleted within 90 days
- Financial records are kept for seven years to comply with Australian tax law
- Anonymised usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement
- Legal disputes or regulatory investigations may require us to retain specific data longer
- Backup systems may contain data for up to 30 days after deletion from primary systems
International Data Transfers
Our primary servers are located in Australia, but some of our service providers operate globally. This means your information might be processed in countries outside Australia, including the United States and European Union.
When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place. We only work with providers who maintain strong privacy protections, and we use standard contractual clauses or other approved mechanisms to protect your information during international transfers.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to make our platform work properly and understand how people use it. Here's what's running:
Essential Cookies
These keep you logged in, remember your settings, and enable core platform functions. You can't opt out of these — without them, the service wouldn't work.
Analytics Cookies
We use analytics to understand which features people use, where they get stuck, and how we can improve. This data is aggregated and doesn't identify individual users.
Preference Cookies
These remember choices like your language preference, dashboard layout, or display settings so you don't have to configure things repeatedly.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies might affect platform functionality. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies while allowing first-party ones.
Children's Privacy
Our services aren't intended for people under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy occasionally as our practices evolve or laws change. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the platform. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when we last revised this policy.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
Privacy Complaints
If you're concerned about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first. We'll investigate and respond within 30 days. Most privacy concerns can be resolved through direct communication.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). They're the independent authority that oversees privacy law compliance in Australia.
